Hertford - a photographic tour

The Hidden Hertford website has now been closed.

However Hidden Hertford tours are still being arranged by Hertford Museum.

This page is a preview of the official tour that was placed on ipods and MP3 players (see below).

Extra photographs have been added to those on the original website.

Using the menu bars will enable you to take a walk around the county town and read some of the unusual facts about the county town.

This tour of Hertford can also be enjoyed as an audio/visual experience on a customised ipod nano. This is brand new with original packaging and only opened to install the AV tour.

The photos have been replaced with short movies and the text expanded further with voice overs.

As well as English this has been translated into French, German and Polish.

The 4gb silver ipod nano inscribed ‘Hidden Hertford’ can be purchased for just £30 plus p&p through Paypal.

The tour can also be supplied on a DVD for just £4.99 (incl p&P worldwide). This includes all 32 film shorts plus audio commentary and can be downloaded on to your hard disk or own ipod.

The files are in .mp4 format and you will need to have Quicktime installed to view them.

Not mentioned in the AV tour but Hertford has a lot of ghosts. All of the locations are visible to the public - some are public buildings but many of the actual rooms are inaccessible now. There are stories of ghosts beneath stairs in a chemist, ghosts that walk through walls and the ghost of a murderer.

This was originally a VHS production that has been transferred to DVD. It was made in 1997 and the quality is not always perfect. This should not detract from your enjoyment. This can be played through a PC and DVD players that accept . Mpeg files. Maps included in the price.
